Elon Musk, the CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, may have delayed his trip to India and may visit the nation until after the elections, people with knowledge of the matter said sources.
Musk was scheduled to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi early next week. He was also scheduled to meet senior officials from the state governments where Tesla might set up an electric vehicle assembly unit and other space-tech startup executives.
The space-tech startup executives, who were scheduled to meet the Tesla chief on Monday, were informed early morning on Saturday that their meeting with Musk stood cancelled.
