Elon Musk confirms date when all legacy accounts will lose blue tick, only paid users will be verified

Twitter owner Elon Musk has set the final date for removing legacy blue ticks from the platform. After April 20, or 4/20, only Twitter Blue subscribers will get the coveted blue verified badge. Musk has been pushing for users to get Twitter Blue, which costs starting at Rs 650 (web), since his takeover late last year. The new Twitter owner believes that users on the platform should have access to a simpler method to get verified, which signifies the account is authentic. Earlier, the date to remove legacy verified badges or blue ticks was set on April 1. However, very few accounts lost their badges, while the remaining verified users continue to have the blue tick on their profiles.
