Ektaa Kapoor to Receive International Emmy’s Prestigious Award for Contributions to Indian Entertainment

Ektaa Kapoor is set to receive the esteemed International Directorate Award at the 51st International Emmy Awards in November. This recognition honors her significant contributions to the Indian entertainment industry. Renowned for producing popular TV shows like Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhie Bahu Thi, Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, Kkusum, and Kasautii Zindagii Kay, Ektaa has been a key figure in the field.

In an official statement, Bruce L. Paisner, President & CEO of the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, praised Ektaa’s impact on the television content industry in India and South Asia. He highlighted her company, Balaji Telefilms Ltd., as a leader in producing content that reaches wide audiences through long-running series and their OTT platform.

Ektaa expressed her gratitude for the honor, mentioning that the award symbolizes her personal and professional journey. Her production house, Balaji Telefilms Ltd., is one of India’s largest content producers, spanning regions like South Asia, South East Asia, and the Middle East. The company’s extensive portfolio includes over 17,000 hours of television content and collaborations with major entertainment channels in India.

Ektaa’s achievements extend beyond television production. She’s recognized as one of Fortune India’s 50 most powerful women in Asia and is the sole female representative from the Indian television industry in Variety500, a list of influential global media business leaders. Recently, she and her mother Sobhaa Kapoor stepped down from their roles at Alt Balaji. Their latest release is Ayushmann Khurrana’s Dream Girl 2.
