Department of Botany, Eliezer Joldan Memorial College Leh organizes one day workshop on Mushroom Entrepreneurship on 4th April 2023 at EJM College Leh. The workshop was organized as a part of G20 summit and with objective to provide practical knowledge and skill to the students on mushroom cultivation and entrepreneurship opportunity in Ladakh and abroad. Mr Rinchen Angchok, founder of Mama Agro farm Phyang was present as the main speaker on the occasion. The program begin with introduction of speaker and formal welcome address by Dr Konchok Dorjey, Assistant Professor of Botany. On the occasion, Mr Rinchen Angchok presented a detailed presentation on the cultivation of button mushroom, it’s market value and profits. He also highlighted the challenges of button mushroom cultivation and marketing in Ladakh, especially with respect to compost preparation. He encouraged students to take up mushroom cultivation as entrepreneurship opportunity and also advised them about business skills and rules. Students had an active interaction with the speaker. Students express their doubt and put up several questions to the speakers. At the end, students of Botany Mohd Aniz and Padma Chuskit express their gratitude and appreciations to the speaker for his valuable talk and encouragement. The program ended with vote of thanks by Razia Parveen, Sr. Assistant Professor and Head of Botany department, EJM College Leh.
