Education Department celebrates National Education Day at Girls Higher Secondary School Poonch

The Education Department Poonch commemorated National Education Day with a special program at Girls Higher Secondary School (HSS) Poonch.
The day, observed to pay homage to India’s first Education Minister and Bharat Ratna, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, featured speeches and performances reflecting his immense contributions to Indian education.
Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal attended as the chief guest, bringing focus to the transformative role of education in shaping society.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of education in driving societal progress, urging students to make the best use of online platforms and stay connected with the digital world. “Education empowers individuals and has far-reaching effects on society,” he stated, adding that students should leverage technology to broaden their learning and gain skills necessary for a rapidly changing world.
Students actively participated, delivering speeches that highlighted the invaluable contribution of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, the architect of modern Indian education system and champion of universal education and literacy. They expressed their admiration for his vision and dedication to building a strong educational foundation for the country.
The host school Principal Anjum Shaheen also addressed the gathering, outlining various schemes introduced by the Education Department. She spoke on initiatives aimed at enhancing learning environments, improving infrastructure, and ensuring that educational resources reach every student, reflecting the department’s commitment to inclusive and quality education.
