Executive Councilor Works, LAHDC, Kargil Mubarak Shah Naqvi today chaired a review meeting at Council Secretariat to finalize land for the construction of newly approved school buildings in Drass Sub Division during the current financial year 2023-24.
During the meeting, threadbare discussion and deliberations were followed on various issues related to the construction of the buildings of Higher Secondary Schools and multipurpose halls in the Sub Division.
Underlining the problems in architecture design and proposals of proposed works of Higher Secondary Schools and multipurpose halls, the EC said the concerned departments should clear all the discrepancies and after reassessment of the projects, by the concerned architects and consultants should send proposals for approval.
He added that the proposals should be approved by concerned departments and heads of the institutions adding that the architecture should be in accordance with local topography.
Regarding Bhimbhat Higher Secondary School, Naqvi asked the concerned executing agency to do reassessment of the project and make an estimate of the cutting of land and also directed to the tendering of cutting works.
Further, he asked the public representatives that the works will resume subject to the required availability of land as per the norms.
Related to Mushkow Higher Secondary School, the EC directed that the work should resume at the earliest as per the proposed plan. He also directed to divert the multipurpose hall at Murad Bagh to Mushkow and directed to do the necessary follow-up on the same.
Regarding Higher Secondary School, Drass, he directed the concerned departments to do the reassessment of the project including architecture and design.
Naqvi also directed that concerned departments should do necessary follow-up to call the consultants on ground and after necessary assessment they should redraw drawings and proposals.
Further, the EC directed the Education Department to send the list of all works under SDP and Samgarah Shiksha at the earliest for necessary review.
Councilor Bhimbhat Constituency, Syed Mohammad Shah, DPO Education, Zonal Education Officer Drass, Principals of various High and Higher Secondary Schools, AEE R&B besides other concerned officers were present during the meeting.
