Srinagar, March 27 : An earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale struck the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan on Thursday at 1:58 PM (IST), sending tremors across parts of Kashmir and northern India. -Breaking News Jammu and Kashmir

According to the National Center for Seismology (NCS), the earthquake occurred at a depth of 180 km, with its epicenter located at latitude 36.32°N and longitude 71.08°E. The tremors were felt in several parts of Jammu and Kashmir, including Srinagar, causing mild panic among residents who rushed out of their homes and offices as a precautionary measure. -Breaking News Jammu and Kashmir

According to the News Agency  However, there have been no immediate reports of damage to property or loss of life. The Hindu Kush region is known for frequent seismic activity due to the collision of the Indian and Eurasian tectonic plates, making it prone to deep-focus earthquakes that can be felt across a wide area.
