Taking to Twitter, the nodal agency for monitoring activity shared, “Earthquake of Magnitude:4.4, Occurred on 29-05-2023, 08:03:35 IST, Lat: 26.68 & Long: 92.35, Depth: 15 Km, Region: Sonitpur, Assam, India.”

The NCS stated the tremors were felt 137 km east of Diglipur.
This came after an earthquake of magnitude 5.9 occurred 70 km southeast of Fayzabad in Afghanistan on Sunday at around 10:19 am.
Tremors were also felt in parts of Pakistan, Srinagar and Poonch in Jammu and Kashmir and Delhi- NCR regions. Panic-stricken people rushed out of houses as the struck Jammu and Kashmir. Videos from their homes, showing shaking ceiling fans were shared.
