Defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have announced the appointment of legendary West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo as their mentor for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season. Bravo replaces Gautam Gambhir, who has taken up the role of head coach for the Indian national team.
This new role marks Bravo’s departure from Chennai Super Kings (CSK), where he was the bowling coach during the IPL 2024 season. His appointment to KKR came just after he officially announced his retirement from all forms of cricket on September 27, 2024, following a groin injury that ended his Caribbean Premier League (CPL) season prematurely.
Bravo, who is the highest wicket-taker in T20 cricket history with 631 wickets in 582 matches, now embarks on the next chapter of his cricketing career as a mentor. His move to KKR adds a wealth of experience and leadership to the team as they look to defend their IPL title in the 2025 season.
