The Drug and Food Control Organization conducted a drive in Satwari, Gangyal and Gandhi Nagar areas of Jammu on Tuesday against milk adulteration in the market to ensure consumers get safe and quality products.
During the drive, milk and meat samples were lifted for analysis while milk cans carrying adulterated milk were seized on the spot by officials of F&D department.
Commissioner Food & Drugs Administration J&K UT has directed all the food business operators to provide safe and wholesome food to consumers. He cautioned that strict action under law shall be initiated against the defaulters in case of any violation.
A six month imprisonment can be granted to defaulters in case anyone found violating the norms.
