Chairperson of J&K Waqf Board (MoS), Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi today welcomed Sri Amarnath Ji pilgrims at Baltal at an enthusiastic reception event held there. Many respectables from the district and other parts of the valley joined Dr Andrabi in according a warm welcome to Yatris reaching the base camp. Dr Andrabi addressed the impressive gathering of the devotees and the locals and said that despite the decades of unrest in J&K, the local populace always participated in welcoming and taking care of the needs and requirements of the devotees visiting from far of places in huge numbers. “Amarnath Yatra is a symbol of mutual trust and communal harmony in Kashmir. It has always remained the annual season of reiteration of the bonding and trust between the local majority community and the devotees visiting the holy shrine”, said Dr Darakhshan. She said that we all should enthusiastically invest in such type of positive initiatives strengthening the bonding between communities so that we are able to create a peaceful, tolerant society in this land of diversities and spiritual excellence.
