Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Dr Jitendra Singh on Saturday after inaugurating the two-day lavender festival at sports stadium Doda addressing the public gathering asserted that  Doda & Bhaderwah have become famous and  are being searched on the world map, due to the growing popularity of the lavender cultivation in the region.

Addressing a public gathering at Sports stadium Doda, Dr Jitendra Singh said, “First our doctors earned fame and now Doda, Bhaderwah are gaining popularity world wide. Our dear PM Modi has explained in detail in ‘Man Ki Baat’ program about our region that there is remote town Bhaderwah in Doda, in which 3,000 farmers are cultivating lavender. In this way the idea of agri-startups started from this region. Now lavender is being grown in remote areas of Himachal, Uttarakhand, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland and in the coming times it can be become a great source of income, trade and economy”.

He added, “I have double relation with Doda as my mother and father’s residence is here. There is a new generation that have come now who has not seen the terrain which was earlier here”.

Talking to the reporters on the sidelines of the event, Singh, said, “I would like to thank the people of Doda who raised our spirits by coming here in huge numbers. There is a special thing about this land that the people here are living with unique sense of love and harmony irrespective of caste & religion. Before 2014, the way former govts did vote bank politics here pushed this district on the margins. I’m happy to say that under the leadership of PM Modi new roads, 244 highways were built here. Many suspended works like Ganpat bridge was constructed, Ratle electricity project was also initiated which was halted for 13 years, Keno ,Dulhasti all these projects have made Kishtwar a power hub”.

“An airport is going to constructed in remote area like Kishtwar where there was no facility of a chopper. There was no demand of medical college from Doda, but PM Modi has given three in Doda, Udhampur and Kishtwar. He has tried to create a new culture to provide facilities to place which they lack. PM Modi rising above from the vote bank politics has tired to benefit people irrespective of caste and religion and we have also tried to serve people in the same vein”. he claimed.

“This whole area and India in one voice is now saying to elect PM Modi again by winning him more than 400 seats in the Lok Sabha when the same development projects were brought here like other regions”, he further said.
