A strike has been launched by doctors at Doda Hospital following a confrontation with Mehraj Malik, the MLA of Doda, during his recent visit to the facility.

MLA Mehraj Malik reportedly expressed concern over the conduct of some doctors, urging them to treat patients at the hospital rather than directing them to private clinics. He stressed the importance of punctuality and told the medical staff that they should be as timely and committed in government service as they expect patients to be at private clinics.

Additionally, he instructed the doctors to wear proper dress code and name badges for easy identification and professional appearance. He warned that during his next visit, he expects full compliance with these standards.

These remarks reportedly offended several members of the medical staff, leading them to go on strike in protest. The ongoing strike has disrupted healthcare services at the hospital, causing inconvenience to the general public and raising concerns among local residents.

No official statements have been released yet by the hospital administration or the doctors’ association regarding a resolution to the issue.
