Do not vote based on caste and religion: Jabbar

In a message to the voters of Anantnag- Poonch and Rajouri constituency, the Jammu Kashmir United Movement (JKUM) President and former MLA Ganderbal Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar has urged voters to not base their decisions on caste and religion.

According to a statement, JKUM President Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar on Wednesday urged the voters to transcend religious affiliations and prioritize merit, policies and track records when casting their votes.

He said, ” Voting should be based on the merit of the candidate and their ability to serve the people, rather than their caste or religious background. Ishfaq Jabbar emphasized the need for voters to rise above narrow-minded considerations and focus on the issues that truly matter. Caste and religion should not play a role in determining the future of a region or its leadership”.

Mr Jabbar said, that the practice of voting along caste and religious lines only serves to divide communities and hinder progress. By voting based on merit, voters can ensure that the most qualified candidates are elected to represent them.

The people of Anantnag-Poonch- Rajouri must show that they are above petty politics and instead prioritize the common good of all, he said.

Highlighting Poonch and Rajouri’s rich heritage of secularism and unity, the JKUM president urged collective efforts to uplift the region, prioritizing progress and peace. “ The region has been renowned for its social cohesion and unity for many years. It is imperative that we preserve these values for the promotion of peace and progress,” he emphasized.

He further said that voters should be discerning in their choices and consider the track record and qualifications of the candidates vying for their support.

In an effort to protect your local interests and ensure that your needs are met, I urge all the voters of Anantnag-Poonch and Rajouri constituency to not vote for an outsider. It is important that you vote for a local candidate, who can can work together with you to create positive change and improve the lives of all residents of the region.

He appealed the voters of Anantnag-Poonch and Rajouri that don’t fall prey to deceitful and hollow slogans of National Conference. He said that it was NC that betrayed people of the State from time to time.

He said that Ganderbal constituency is a typical example of victim of outsider syndrome.

Jabbar said, unfortunately, the leaders who were supported and elected by the people of Ganderbal since 1970s treated their electorate as commodities that can be turned into an inheritance,” .

He said that the blind trust of the people was exploited by parties like National Conference which considered Ganderbal as their political stronghold until recently.

The JKUM Party president observed that after getting elected from this district, the MLAs and MPs would regrettably outsource their public mandate and appoint local chieftains to manage their duties. “After becoming Chief Ministers, the Ganderbal MLAs would become totally inaccessible to the people and leave their electorate at the mercy of their franchisees,” he added.

Sheikh said that NC has always adopted divide and rule policy of Britishers.

These leaders always exploited people of Jammu and Kashmir especially Gujjar and Bakarwal community by their false fascinating slogans and false lures but now their detestable faces are exposed in front of people are now aware about these self interested dynasts, dirty politics.

He appealed to the public to come out in large numbers to cast votes and defeat these forces with a huge margin.
