District Magistrate (DM) Kishtwar, Dr Devansh Yadav today visited the construction site of Kuriya-Keshwan to Loidhar Road and removed unauthorised obstructions to facilitate restart road work.
He was accompanied by ACR, Varunjeet Singh Charak; Tehsildar, Umar Muneeb; ExEn PMGSY, Mohinder Kumar, SHO Chhatroo Parveez Ahmed besides revenue staff.
The payment of the compensation for the structures of the affected owners was also made by ACR in presence of District Magistrate and land owners and villagers.
Meanwhile, on the direction of District Magistrate, and with the help of a Police team, a JCB was pressed in to remove the unauthorised obstructions in presence of all villagers and officials thereby paving the way for completion of the road by 2023.
In this regard, ACR also issued a stay order under section 133 for any obstruction/encroachment, till land ownership is not finalised in the KK-Loidhar road.
Besides, on the directions and under the personal intervention of DM, the access from KK-Loidhar road was also opened to the Thakraie Road which was a demand of local inhabitants to cut short the long distance travelled by commuters from said road to Thakraie road.
