The District Police Poonch has launched a stringent crackdown on illegal mining activities in the region, emphasizing the importance of preserving the environment and upholding the law. This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to curb illegal practices and ensure compliance with mining regulations.
During recent operations, four instances of unauthorized mining were detected and strict action was taken against violators.
Speaking about the initiative, Senior Superintendent of Police Sh Shafket Hussain JKPS (SSP) Poonch stated:
“Illegal mining not only damages our environment but also undermines the economy. We urge all individuals and entities to abide by the law. Anyone found engaging in illegal activities will face severe legal consequences.”
The District Police further appeals to the public to report any instances of illegal mining to nearest Police Station/ Police Post.
