Acting tough against the social crimes, District Police Leh arrested 09 gamblers and seized the stake money, play cards and other gamming articles from the gamming place.
Acting on a specific information, a police party headed by DySP Hqr Leh and SHO Leh raided a gambling house near Choglamsar and arrested 04 gamblers on the spot who were later identified as 1.Tsering Phuntsog S/O Chemet Tashi R/O TR Camp No. 2, 2. Sangyal Tendar S/O Chongat Tsering R/O TR Camp No 2, 3. Tashi Angdus S/O Dachos R/O TR Camp No 01, 4. Sonam Tashi S/O Sonam Angdus R/O Kharnakling Choglamsar and siezed stake money of Rs 34200/ along with play cards and other gaming articles from the gamming site.
On this case FIR No. 08/2023 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Leh and investigation started
Similarly an information was also received that some persons are doing gambling in the house of Sonam Angchuk at Skara, the police team immediately rush to the location and raided the house, during the raid 5 persons namely 1. Raju Bamzan S/O Kali Bamzan, 2. Loktay Tamang S/O Norboo Tamang, 3. Ramesh Tamang S/O Nima Dorjey Tamang, 4. Nar Bhadur S/O Lal Bhadur, 5. Sonam Tamang S/O CB Tamang all are resident of Nepal A/P resides in Skara Leh were red handedly caught while gambling
inside the said rented accomodation. All the persons has been arrested, play cards were siezed and Rs. 43820/ stake money also recovered and siezed on the spot.
On this case FIR No. 09/2023 under relevant section of law also registered at Police Station Leh and investigation started.
It is pertinent to mention here that, persons found indulging in criminal activities/gambling shall be dealt strictly as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the district police Leh for timely action.
