District Level Workshop on best practices in Governance held at GCW Anantnag

A district level workshop organized by District Administration Anantnag on best practices in governance was today held at Govt College for Women (GCW) Anantnag.
Syed Kifayat Hussain Rizvi (IAS) Retd. was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the former Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Rizvi said that education is critical for sustainable good governance practices to flourish. He said that a well-educated person will adhere to transparent practices and always remain accountable for decisions implemented.
He said that technology is a marvelous tool that is aiding various modern governance initiatives, but at the same time, the human touch is necessary to address problems.
Additional District Development Commissioner, Bashir Ahmad Wani welcomed the chief guest and said that he has had a remarkable service career at top positions and his assessment of the developmental initiatives will provide much needed feedback and directions for future course of action.
District Informatics Officer, Jan Mubarik gave an overview of the various good governance initiatives in Anantnag like Pukaar, Sukoon, implementation of various Govt schemes etc and shared how ICT are being leveraged to breed efficiency and transparency into the system.
Prof Muzaffar Ahmad Bhat, Principal Govt Degree College Anantnag gave an overview of the initiatives in the educational sector. He said with the advent of technological interventions, all employees are on a level field and singularly focused towards raising their output.
He said students are benefitting from the use of the Internet and other communication technologies as it provides exposure to the methods of education adopted in other states and countries.
The program was attended by Principal GCW, SDMs of Bijbehara, Kokernag and Dooru, ACD, DMO, DD Fisheries, LDM, DEPO, DYSSO, Faculty and students of GCW Anantnag and other officers.
