The district administration organised a mega public Block Diwas outreach programme at panchayat Khellani Top of block Bhalla and at three other places across the district.
At Khellani Top, Additional District Development Commissioner Doda, Pran Singh chaired a programme to address public demands and grievances. He assured prompt action on genuine demands. Issues raised included road connectivity, health centres, fire service station, school upgrades, Animal Husbandry Centre, seasonal seed store and compensation for land given for road construction.
He directed departments to address grievances systematically and discussed the three-tier Panchayat Raj and funding system. He urged proper use of funds for development and finding a proper place for a health centre.
The ADDC also took part in a plantation drive by planting a chinar tree at the lush green ground of Khellani Top.
Officers who attended the programme included ADC Bhaderwah; ACD Doda; Chief Agriculture Officer Doda; Chief Education Officer Doda; XEns of Irrigation; PMYGS; PWD; Chief Animal Husbandry Officer; Assistant Floriculture Officer and BDO Bhalla.
In the Block Diwas programmes held at Tehsil Headquarter Phagsoo, PWD Guest House Ramgarh and Panchayat Bharghi, large numbers of people were present who demanded the upgrading of local infrastructure in the health and education sectors, extension of road connectivity, water and power facilities. Demands were raised for macadamisation of roads, execution of works under MGNREGA and upgrading of electric poles. Presiding officers listened to the issues and directed concerned officers to prepare a list of issues and grievances raised pertaining to their departments and resolve them as soon as possible.
