The Director Horticulture Kashmir, G. R. Mir today visited district Kupwara and took stock of the functioning of Fruit Plant Nursery, Chougal, Handwara and also attended an awareness camp.
The camp was attended by Chief Horticulture Officer Kupwara, District Horticulture Officer, Kupwara and other officers of the department besides representatives of PRIs and a good number of farmers.
On the spot awareness was given about the beneficiary oriented and self-employment schemes of the Horticulture Department.
Further a special session was held to demonstrate the pruning and training of high-density apple orchards.
Later, the Director Horticulture visited Panchayat halqa Chanigam-A, Sogam, where he was Visiting Officer during the Back to Village-IV (B2V4) programme and has now been designated as Prabhari Officer for the said panchayat for a period of one year.
At the outset of his visit to the panchayat halqa, Director Horticulture held a review/follow-up meeting at Panchayat Bhawan Chandigam.
The meeting was attended by PRI members and representatives of line departments.
During the meeting Director reviewed the progress and sought feedback from the line Departments with special focus on the assigned deliverables like Golden Health Cards, land passbooks, KCC, Soil Health Cards, Self-Employments schemes, identification of youth for skill training under Himayat etc.
The Banks briefed the chair that they have disbursed the loan to 21 self-employment units in cutting tailoring and establishment of Sheep units etc. in the panchayat halqa. Further, the Health Department informed that they have completed almost 100 percent Aadhar-seeding.
The Prabhari Officer distributed Land Pass Books, Kisan Credit Card (KCC) Sanction letters, Horticulture Land Passbooks among the inhabitants of the panchayat Halqa Chandigam-A.
