The celebrations of Digital Week 2023 culminated on Monday with Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad presiding over the valedictory function held at the Conference Hall of Mini Secretariat Bandipora.
The valedictory function was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner Ali Afsar Khan; Nodal Officer Coordination, Mohammad Ashraf Hakak; ADC, Umar Shafi; ACR, JD Planning besides government officials, educators and a galaxy of students from different institutions of Bandipora .
It was given out that during the observation of Digital Week 2023, people across the district were made aware of online services through panel discussions, town hall meetings, and open forums. This allowed people to voice their concerns and suggestions regarding the digital transformation of Bandipora.
During the function, achievements, and programs held during the week, were displayed on a big screen, including initiatives such as e-governance services and digital identity programs
It was further informed that throughout the week workshops on improving digital literacy, array of tech exhibitions, demonstrations of virtual reality, artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies including workshops on e-offices were also held.
Various youth-centric programs, hackathons, and coding competitions were also organized.
The DC delivered an inspiring address stressing the importance of new era technology to improve the quality of life for all residents of Bandipora.
The DC said that the world has now become a digital village where a person can access all the services and information available while sitting at home by simply accessing the internet. He said that the applicants/people need not visit government offices physically as most services are available online, thereby reducing chances of corruption to a zero percent. He said that online services helped in fostering a corruption free atmosphere with administrative setups.
Dr Owais informed that the district administration has launched a single platform application ‘PARWAAZ’ to access the services and schemes available in the district so that people can access all these services online at their homes and workplaces.
While addressing the student fraternity, the DC said that earlier, a student/aspirant had to move physically for study material. However, now study material stands available on various platforms across the internet, and they can access it on a single click. He urged students to ensure responsible usage of online services while taking care of time management.
The event concluded with an awards ceremony recognizing individuals, officials, media persons, and other organizations that have made significant contributions to the digital ecosystem in Bandipora. This included awards for innovation, digital education, and community engagement.
