DIG SKR Inaugurates Police Martyrs Women’s T-20 Cricket Tournament at GDC Khanabal; Opens Dry Canteen and MT Building at DPL Anantnag

Anantnag Police organized the Police Martyrs Women’s T-20 Cricket Tournament at Hamayun Muzammil Government Degree College, Khanabal, to honor the sacrifices of police martyrs. DIG SKR Shri Javid Iqbal Matoo inaugurated the tournament in the presence of senior police officers. The event features four teams and aims to foster sportsmanship, unity, and remembrance of those who laid down their lives in service to the nation.

During the inauguration, DIG SKR Shri Javid Iqbal Matoo praised the initiative, underscoring the importance of such events in paying tribute to the bravery and dedication of police martyrs. He encouraged the participants to demonstrate their talent and teamwork, highlighting the role of sports in promoting camaraderie and healthy competition.

In addition to the tournament, DIG SKR also opened a Dry Canteen and the newly constructed MT Section Building at DPL Anantnag. These new facilities aim to enhance the welfare and working conditions of Police personnel, contributing to their comfort and efficiency.

The event was attended by senior officers, including SSP Anantnag Dr. G.V. Sundeep Chakravarthy, SP HQRS Anantnag Shri Sajad Ahmad, SP OPS Anantnag Shri Furqan Qadir, ASP Anantnag Shri Ghulam Hassan, and other district Police officials.

This initiative reflects Anantnag Police’s commitment to honoring Police martyrs while promoting sports as a means of community engagement and youth empowerment.
