DHSK conducts mock drills for Covid-19 readiness

Hospitals and health centers today conducted mock drills across Kashmir to for Covid management and preparedness in view of the fourth covid wave alarm.

The drills were conducted in all district hospitals and health centers following the directions of Director Health Services Kashmir Dr Muhstaq Ahmad Rather

The director said the drills will focus on parameters such as availability of health facilities in all districts, capacity of isolation beds, oxygen-supported beds, ICU (intensive care unit) beds and ventilator-supported beds.

The DHSK himself visited JLNM hospital in Srinagar to overview the mock drill and preparations for the covid pandemic.

He said that the doctors, healthcare workers are fully trained in Kashmir given their previous management of the covid pandemic waves.

These mock drills are being held across the hospitals and health centers in the country following directions of ministry of Union Health and family welfare.

“Mock drills are being conducted today to see how prepared we are. We need to have full monitoring & keep all the logistics ready. If any shortcoming is found (during mock drill),it is being addressed,” the director said.

Earlier, Secretary Health and Medical Education Bhupinder Kumar had reviewed covid preparations following the surge of covid positive cases in many countries.
