In a significant step towards enhancing healthcare services in the district, Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Kumar Shavan on Saturday inaugurated a Computerized Radiography (CR) System for X-ray imaging at the Outpatient Department (OPD) of District Hospital Kishtwar.
The advanced facility was provided to the Hospital by KWAR HEP (CVPPL) under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) & Sustainable Activity 2023-24.
The newly inaugurated system, with an estimated cost of Rs 10 lakh, represents an upgrade in radiology services, enabling faster and more accurate imaging to streamline diagnostic processes for OPD patients.
By utilizing advanced digital technology, the system not only enhances image quality but also reduces patient exposure to radiation, making it a safer, more efficient option for both patients and medical personnel.
The DC Kishtwar emphasized the administration’s commitment to improve medical infrastructure and providing quality healthcare services to residents of Kishtwar and surrounding areas, stating, “The installation of this CR system will significantly enhance our diagnostic capabilities, ensuring that patients receive timely and precise care.”
The Computer Radiography System is expected to serve hundreds of patients monthly, reducing the load on existing facilities available thereby providing a reliable and accessible option for essential diagnostic imaging. The CVPPL Kwar HEP has put in an order of another Rs.70 lakh equipment for the Hospital.
The inauguration was conducted in the presence of Shashi Kant Giri, HOP KWAR, HEP CVPPL Kishtwar; Dr. Rajinder Kumar, CMO Kishtwar; Dr.Yudhvir Singh Kotwal, MS DH Kishtwar and other hospital staff.
