Desh Bhagat University Gets Stay from High Court

In the case of admission of more than the sanctioned number of seats in Nursing Course, a great relief has dawned over Desh Bhagat University as they have received stay orders from the Honourable High Court. Earlier, they were charged of admitting 132 students in place of the sanctioned 60 seats. Medical Education Department, Punjab had ordered them to migrate the additional students to other medical colleges and had also ordered the University to not to admit new students from now on and to pay the grieving students rs. 10 lakh each as compensation. However, now High Court has observed that the petitioner’s point of view had not been taken into consideration during the prior proceedings. DBU has argued that the NOC granted by J&K Medical Councel has not been withdrawn yet and they had not received any notification from INC that any of the nursing seats are unsuitable. Keeping in mind the valid points, the Honourable High Court has granted them stay in the said case and has asked them to continue the course as earlier without the need to migrate any of the students as yet.
