Deputy Commissioner of Rajouri, Vikas Kundal, held a meeting with concerned officers today to review the functioning of the Eklavya Model Residential Schools located in Gurdhaballa and Koreranka villages in Rajouri district.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the significance of providing quality education to tribal students and urged the officers to work towards creating an enabling environment for learning in the School. He further stressed the importance of ensuring that the students have access to all necessary resources to excel in their academic pursuits, including extra-curricular activities.
The Eklavya Model Residential School is an ambitious initiative of the Government of India to facilitate tribal students in obtaining quality education and enabling them to compete with students from other parts of the country.
The Deputy Commissioner also highlighted the need for regular monitoring of the academic progress of the students and suggested that assessments be conducted regularly to track the progress of each student.
The District Social Welfare Officer Rajouri informed the Deputy Commissioner that presently, one school is functioning from Rajouri, while the other is operating from JNV buildings in Hubbi. He further informed that the academic work of Gurdhanbala EMRS is expected to be completed in the coming days. Additionally, he shared that the admission procedure for this session is in progress and the response is tremendous.
The review conducted by Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal emphasized the importance of Eklavya Model Residential Schools in providing quality education to tribal students and ensuring that they have access to the same opportunities as students in other parts of the country, including extra-curricular activities.
