On Tuesday, Delhi University (DU) released the initial allocation list for its undergraduate programs. A total of 85,853 seats were assigned in this first round, with 7,042 candidates getting their top preferred seats and approximately 22,000 candidates being allocated seats from their first five preferences.
In total, 2,02,416 candidates were considered for this round. DU is offering admission to 71,000 seats across 78 undergraduate programs and 198 BA program combinations in 68 colleges.
Candidates have until August 4 to accept their allocated seats. If their names appear on the first-round list, they must accept the seat through the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) portal by 4:59 pm on August 4. This enables colleges to review the applications of allotted candidates by 4:59 pm on August 5. Once colleges approve the applications, candidates have until 4:59 pm on August 6 to submit the required fees. If any clarifications are needed, colleges may raise queries to the candidates.
Only those who complete their admission process, including fee payment, will have the option to “Upgrade” and participate in the second round.
The university will announce the results of the second round on August 10 at 5 pm.
Notably, the university changed its admission process from Class 12 board examination marks to the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) for admissions last year.
