Moderate rain is expected to lash the Delhi-NCR region and heavy rain in the northeastern states, even as the severe flood situation in Assam remains critical.
The India Meteorological Department has predicted moderate to heavy rainfall in most areas in Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, and Rajasthan. Himachal Pradesh is likely to receive heavy showers.
The situation remains grim in Assam, with nearly 21 lakh people affected in 29 districts. Major rivers, including the Brahmaputra and its tributaries, are flowing above danger levels, causing widespread inundation of agricultural land and submerging villages in Assam.
