Delhi Metro to Offer ‘Tourist Smart Cards’ for G20 Summit Visitors: Unlimited Rides for 1 or 3 Days

In anticipation of increased passenger traffic due to the upcoming G20 Summit in Delhi, the Delhi Metro will sell ‘Tourist Smart Cards’ through dedicated counters at 36 stations from September 4-13, as announced by officials.

These cards are available in two categories: one-day validity and three-day validity cards, both of which offer “unlimited rides” within the metro network.

It’s worth noting that ‘Tourist Smart Cards’ are available on regular days as well, but dedicated counters have been opened specifically for the G20 Summit. Sales at these counters will commence for a 10-day period starting Monday, as stated by a senior official.

The G20 Leaders’ Summit is scheduled to take place in New Delhi from September 9-10.

The establishment of these dedicated counters aims to facilitate G20 delegates and international visitors who may be interested in exploring the prominent tourist attractions of the capital city during their stay in Delhi for the G20 Summit.

The one-day validity Tourist Smart Card will be priced at ₹200, while the three-day validity card will be available for ₹500. This pricing also includes a refundable security deposit of ₹50, according to information provided by the DMRC.

These dedicated counters will be set up at 36 stations, including but not limited to Kashmere Gate, Chandni Chowk, Chawri Bazar, New Delhi, Rajiv Chowk, Patel Chowk, Central Secretariat, Udyog Bhawan, Lok Kalyan Marg, and Supreme Court metro stations.
