Delhi court reserves order on MP Engineer Rashid’s bail plea in terror funding case

The Delhi Patiala House Court has reserved its order on the bail application of Rashid Engineer after a detailed in-camera hearing. The court is expected to pronounce its decision on September 4.

Last week, a Delhi court sought the National Investigation Agency’s (NIA) response to an application filed by imprisoned Kashmiri parliamentarian Rashid Engineer, who is seeking regular bail.

Sheikh Abdul Rashid, widely known as Engineer Rashid, was arrested in connection with a 2017 Jammu and Kashmir terror funding case. Despite this, he won the Baramulla seat in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, defeating former Chief Minister and National Conference leader Omar Abdullah.–
