Deceased soldier’s body returned home

A pall of grief descended upon Manjli village of Kathua on Thursday morning when deceased Pritam Singh body reached to his native place.

The village youths on bikes holding tricolours in their hands and shouting ‘Pritam Singh Amar Rahe’ welcomed the deceased’s body.

The family of Pritam Singh received his body wrapped in tricolour in a military truck and later cremated him with full military honors.

Indian army soldier Pritam Singh lost his life when the water tanker being driven by him fell in a gorge at Chira Wala Morh, Kassalian in Poonch at dusk on 16 January.

The deceased was shifted to an army medical facility where he succumbed to wounds, while another soldier who was with him is still receiving treatment.
