The body of a 26-year-old employee of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) employees’ colony in Trikuta Nagar area of Jammu was found hanging in his room. Deceased Deepak Kumar s/o Makhan Lal was a resident of Abohar, Punjab. He was a designer assistant in Jammu RBI.
Trikuta Nagar Police completed the legal proceedings and handed over the body to his family members for last rites. Trikuta Nagar SHO Shiv Dev Singh told that Deepak was posted in Jammu for a few months. These days he was preparing for the examination for promotion in RBI.
Room was locked from inside
He told that the room was locked from inside when other employees who were preparing for the exam with him reached to call him late on Saturday night. He knocked on the door for a long time, but when it did not open, he informed the police.
Police opened the door
Shiv Dev Singh said that when the police opened the door in the presence of bank officials, Deepak’s body was found hanging inside. Deepak lived alone in Jammu. He was not married yet.
Brother had also hanged himself a year ago.
The SHO also said that Deepak’s uncle told the police that his brother had died in a similar manner about a year ago. He was under stress after his brother’s death.
He had her brother’s picture on her mobile phone. The inspection of the matter is going on. From the initial investigation, it seems to be a case of suicide.
