District Development Commissioner Samba, Abhishek Sharma today chaired a crucial meeting to evaluate the advancements made under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) [PMAY (U)].
The scheme is being executed through the Jammu and Kashmir Housing Board, under the purview of the Housing & Urban Development Department.
The meeting garnered participation from key stakeholders, including the Deputy General Manager of Housing Board, U-II, and Executive Officers representing Municipal Committees and Council. Notably, experts from the CLTC (City Level Technical Cell) were also in attendance.
The meeting was convened in response to the directives of the Government of India, which underscored the importance of completing all approved cases by December 2024.
Acknowledging the progress achieved, the District Development Commissioner, commended implementing agencies and dedicated field functionaries in executing the scheme to a satisfactory standard.
During the meeting, a pivotal discussion ensued, emphasizing the strategic necessity of establishing stage-wise targets on a monthly basis. The approach was envisioned to expedite the achievement of the stipulated objectives well before the looming deadline.
The District Development Commissioner further underscored the criticality of seamless coordination between Executive Officers and the CLTC experts. This collaboration is poised to foster an environment conducive to swift and effective progress.
The District Development Commissioner, expressed optimism and confidence in the collective ability of all stakeholders to overcome challenges and achieve the desired outcomes. The commitment displayed by both implementing agencies and administrative bodies alike was lauded, and it was stressed that a concerted and synchronized effort will propel the PMAY (U) scheme towards successful completion.
