District Development Commissioner (DDC) Poonch undertook a comprehensive review of the works and developmental projects being executed by the PWD (R&B) Circle Poonch.
This meeting was organized in light of the recent restructuring of the PWD R&B, which also encompasses the mechanical department.
During the meeting, a brief PowerPoint presentation on all the developmental works and their division wise distribution was given by the SE PWD (R&B) Circle Poonch.
The meeting was informed that 32 works have been sanctioned under District Plan out of which 24 have been tendered and work on 10 has been started, while out of 22 Health sector sanctioned works 20 have been tendered and work on 03 has been started and under education sector out of 53 sanctioned works 51 have been tendered and work on 05 has been started.
Similarly under DDC Plan out of 19 sanctioned works 11 have been tendered and work on 2 has been started and under PRI Plan out of 73 sanctioned works 51 have been tendered and work on 20 has been started. Further under the City and Towns Scheme of 90 sanctioned works 89 have been tendered and work on 37 has been started and under NABARD out of 124 sanctioned works 121 have been tendered and work on 102 has been started. The DDC also reviewed the progress of other schemes and projects implemented by the PWD(R&B).
Furthermore, the updated status of tendering, allotment and completion of works under all schemes was also reviewed by the DDC. He was updated on the progress, accomplishments, and objectives of different ongoing projects.
In a firm directive, the DC stressed the importance of adhering to the rules and regulations governing the tendering and execution processes. Contractors failing to meet timelines or initiating work punctually will face stringent action in accordance with the regulations.
The DDC directed XENs to pace up the speed of all ongoing works to achieve completion in a time bound manner.
He further asked the concerned XENs to mobilize men and machinery for the saturation of all the pending schemes within set timelines.
He also called for removing bottlenecks by taking all concerned departments onboard.
The meeting was attended by Chief Executive Officer, TDA Poonch, Superintending Engineer PW (R&B) Circle Poonch, Executive Engineer PWD (R&B) Division Poonch along-with all AEES, Chief Medical/ Education Officer Poonch, Executive Engineer PWD (R&B) Division Surankote along-with all AEEs, Executive Engineer PWD (R&B) Division Mendhar along-with all AEEs and other concerned.
