District Development Commissioner Ramban, Mussarat Islam, on Friday chaired a meeting of the concerned departments to discuss the modalities for the implementation of the Aspirational Panchayat Development Programme (APDP) in the district.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Harbans Lal; CPO, Kasturi Lal; SDM Gool Tanveer-Ul-Majid; ACD, Ashok Katoch; CMO, Dr Kamal Zadoo; Executive Engineer, Jal Shakti, Sudhir Sharama; Executive Engineer, Nisar Ahmed and other senior officers.
A detailed discussion was held on the parameters pertaining under different categories including availability of basic infrastructure, environment conservation, Governance, skill development and other activities proposed for the designated panchayats.
The meeting held threadbare discussion on identified indicators, effective mechanism for timely collection of data and meeting other aspects of APDP.
Speaking at the meeting, the DDC impressed upon all the departments to collect realistic and authentic data on identified indicators and put in best possible efforts in this regard.
He said that the Government is all set to introduce the Panchayat Development Index to develop and replicate best practices that drive improvement across the socio-economic themes of Panchayats under newly approved Aspirational Panchayat Development Programme (APDP).
Earlier, the CPO gave a detailed overview about the rollout of APDP and its significance in future planning of least performing panchayats. He also stressed upon all the departments to start data collection of the parameters pertaining to their departments.
