DDC Rajouri presides over public outreach camp at Palma

As a part of weekly Block Diwas, District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal today presided over a public outreach camp here at Palma.
At the Block Diwas, the public and their representatives apprised the DDC about a number of issues and demands of their areas. They demanded macadamisation of roads, augmentation of health services, upgradation of schools, meeting paucity of staff in Govt institutions and others.
Specific issues and demands projected during the event were shortage of electricity poles and transformers, scarcity of water, upgradation of HS Palma to HSS level, lack of ambulance facility, paucity of staff at PHC Palma etc.
Officers of different departments also educated the public about various schemes and programs being implemented in the district and motivated them to avail the benefits of the same.
The DDC gave a patient hearing to all the issues projected by the public during the event and assured them that the demands raised shall be fulfilled in a time bound manner.
Addressing the event, the DDC said that the Block Diwas ensures doorstep public service delivery and redressal of the genuine grievances of the common man.
Listing various initiatives taken by the District Administration for the welfare of the general public, he said that we are working on a multi pronged strategy for the holistic development of all the areas of the district.
The DDC urged the beneficiaries of various Govt services to get their bank accounts linked with Aadhaar to receive DBT benefits in their bank accounts.
Responding to the demands, he assured the public that an adequate number of electricity poles would be provided to the public under the RDSS scheme of the PDD sector.
He further said that every household of the district would be provided functional tapped water connections with the implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission.
Highlighting the negative effects of drugs on health, the DDC said that Drug abuse and addiction is a serious issue that we must address with determination and resolve. He also said that the Govt is very concerned about the empowerment of Youth and as such, various schemes have been launched from time to time for their welfare.
Regarding the plan formulation of district Capex Budget for FY 2023-24, he advised the elected representatives to prioritize works as per the local demands while formulating plans for their respective areas.
He also asked the officers to maintain close coordination with Public representatives to alleviate the sufferings of the people in a time bound manner.
Later, the DDC also inspected work on Palma-Nagrota being constructed by the PWD(R&B). The ExEn PWD(R&B) Rajouri, Maqbool Hussain informed that the estimated cost of the bridge is Rs 848.99 lacs and the work on the bridge would be completed within six months.
