District Development Commissioner Doda, Vishesh Paul Mahajan, today chaired a meeting of Officials of Jal Shakti and Irrigation & Flood Control department here in the Conference Hall of DC office complex and reviewed the progress of works approved under JJM and other heads.
Threadbare discussion was held with regard to physical and financial progress of the schemes approved under JJM, District Capex and other heads. He took first hand appraisal of the schemes approved under JJM and their updated status including schemes tendered and alloted for execution on ground.
It was informed that all the 185 schemes under JJM have been tendered out of which in 130 schemes sufficient response to allot the work has been received, while till date 98 schemes have been alloted on which work have been started on ground.
The DDC directed to book the expenditure immediately in respect of all the completed works. He asked the engineers to make use of technology for real-time inspection of quality of under execution works. He instructed them to achieve 75 percent physical and financial progress of JJM and other schemes by 31st of December this year.
He further instructed the Planning section to set tangible targets under all the schemes to be achieved by 31st December 2022, 31st January 2023, 28th February 2023 and 31st March 2023.
The SE Hydraulics was asked to ensure the adherence to the achievement both physical and financial as per the schedule/ timeline issued by the Planning section of the DC office. He emphasized on the quality of work while adhering to the timeline. He reiterated timely realization of the objectives of JJM including provision of safe, quality drinking tap water to every household.
The Superintending Engineer Hydraulic was asked to consider the work audit and physical and financial progress of engineering and non-engineering staff before releasing their monthly salary.
Besides, the DDC directed the executing officers to expedite the physical and financial progress of the works entrusted to them under different schemes as per the already fixed deadline.
DDC has also instructed the concerned to process the stoppage of salary of the engineering and non-engineering officials whose progress was found poor and who adopt a casual approach towards their legitimate duties and directions of their higher authorities.
