The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Anantnag, Dr Basharat Qayoom today chaired the quarterly District Level Review Committee (DLRC) meeting with all leading banks of the district to review the progress of credit lending and activities being taken up under various schemes. The credit plan for the district was also reviewed at length on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC said that banks have a critical role to play in boosting the economic development of the district through lending to priority areas. He highlighted the importance of banks in coverage of potential youth aspiring to earn sustainable livelihood through self-employment schemes.
He directed the banks to adopt a liberal attitude towards disbursal of cases and strike a fine balance in ensuring all formalities are completed and the youth receive sanction in a hassle-free and time bound manner.
Presenting the performance of banks quarter on quarter basis, LDM said that advances have grown by Rs 232 Crores and deposits by Rs 195 crores. Sharing the progress on credit lending, he said that 40% of the annual target lending to MSME sector has been achieved and in the next few months, the target will be achieved. He assured complete cooperation of all banks in this regard.
The LDM also presented achievements in disbursal in various Government Sponsored schemes. He further added that 35 FLCC camps have been held in the district against a target of 21 camps.
On the sidelines of the meeting, DLIC for MUMKIN and Tejaswini scheme was also held. AD Employment Anantnag presented the progress under various schemes of Mission Youth. He said under MUMKIN, 28 cases are being put up for approval today while 214 cases have been approved so far. Similarly under Tejaswini 12 cases have been put up before the committee today while 83 cases have been approved so far.
The DC appreciated the efforts of the Employment Department and banks and asked them to put more concerted efforts for engaging youth under these schemes.
The meeting was attended by ADDC, JD Planning, LDM, AD Employment, and representatives from various banks, DDM NABARD, representatives from DIC Anantnag among others.
