Prachar Rath carrying message of Jal Jeevan Mission was today flagged of by District Development Council Chairperson Poonch, Tazeem Akhter in the presence of Superintending Engineer Hydraulic Circle Poonch, Er. Rajinder K. Sharma, Executive Engineer PHE Poonch Er. Riaz Ahmad.
Officials from Jal Shakti Department and general public were present on the occasion.
The Patchar Rath is being Run by ISA society for scheduled and backward hired by the Jal Shakti department for IEC activities.
The Parchar Rath will create awareness about different components of JJM Water testing, Hygiene and sanitation, role of pani samitis and water conservation. Parchar Rath will also cover cluster Surankote and Poonch.
DDC Chairperson lauded the Superintending Engineer Hydraulic Circle Poonch and all the team involved in generating awareness including IEC Coordinator, Muzafar Hussain, Sr. Lecturer and team leader ISA, Imtiaz Ahmed.
Implementation Support Agency (ISA) is the part of the Jal Jeevan Mission a Flagship program of the government for information, education and communication activities with regard to successful implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission program.
Superintending Engineer, Er. Rajinder K. Sharma addressed the gathering and informed that Prachar Rath shall travel in the entire Poonch district, covering all the 178 number of villages during the period of execution of JJM schemes to make aware of the people of Poonch district of the JJM Schemes launched by the Prime Minister to provide safe drinking water to each household with the slogan of “HAR GHAR NAL SE JAL”.
He further elaborated that out 128 number of the schemes, works on most of the schemes is in progress and every effort is being made by the department to complete the schemes in the district by the end of June 2023, the timeline fixed by the government.
Superintending Engineer thanked Chairperson DDC, District Development Commissioner Poonch, (Chairman DJJM), Inder Jeet and district administration for their support in implementing the JJM in the district.
He also thanked staff of the department and gathering for making the program successful.
