DDC Bandipora tours far-flung Dardpora Village

As a part of Public Outreach Initiative, the District Development Commissioner (DDC) Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad today visited remote Dardpora Village to take a first hand appraisal of the issues faced by the people.
Besides concerned DDC member, Gh Mohiuddin Rather, the DDC was accompanied by the officers of different departments including Nodal Officer Coordination, Mohammad Ashraf Hakak, JD Planning Imtiyaz Ahmad, Tehsildar Bandipora, AD Fisheries and other concerned Officers.
The visit began with the inauguration of a fish unit, sponsored by the Fisheries Department Bandipora. The unit aims to support the local economy, provide employment opportunities and boost the overall productivity of fishes in the area.
While inaugurating the unit, Dr. Owais highlighted the commitment of the administration to uplift marginalized communities and promote sustainable development in the region.
Following the inauguration ceremony, the DDC engaged with the residents of Dardpora Village in an interactive session. Locals on the occasion shared their concerns, grievances, and aspirations with the administration.
The community also highlighted various challenges they face, including inadequate infrastructure, limited healthcare facilities, and the need for better educational opportunities. Further, the locals demanded bringing the village on a tourist map owing to its beautiful landscape.
Dr. Owais gave the patient hearing to each issue raised by the community members. He assured the residents of Dardpora Village that their concerns would be addressed on a priority basis. He urged PRIs and locals to work closely with the concerned departments to improve the infrastructure, enhance healthcare services, and strengthen educational institutions in the area.
The DDC also emphasized the importance of inclusive development, assuring the community that their voices would be heard and their needs would be met.
Dr Owais said that the visit to Dardpora Village is a part of commitment made by the administration to foster sustainable development and ensure the welfare of every citizen living in the nook and corners of the district.
The DDC expressed his gratitude to the villagers for their warm reception and active participation during the visit. He acknowledged the efforts of the DDC, PRIs, government officials, and community leaders in bringing different issues to the ears of district administration, thereby helping the administration in resolving them on priority.
Dr. Owais encouraged continued collaboration between the government and the community to achieve comprehensive and inclusive development in the region.
