Deputy Commissioner Saloni Rai today chaired a comprehensive review meeting today to assess the progress of the Swachh Bharat Mission Urban and Rural schemes in the district. The meeting, held in the Mini Conference Hall of the DC Office Complex Udhampur, brought together officers from the Urban Local Bodies and Rural Development Department.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner meticulously examined the advancement of the Swachh Bharat Mission at the Municipality/Block level. She also outlined clear timelines for the completion of pending projects within the current financial year. To ensure efficient execution, BDOs and EOs were enjoined to adopt a mission-oriented approach, discharging their duties with unwavering accountability and collective cooperation. The paramount importance of fostering awareness among the public about the manifold advantages of sanitation was underscored, alongside a reaffirmation of the scheme’s fundamental objectives.
Emphasizing the need for meticulous oversight, the Deputy Commissioner directed the BDOs to institute a system of regular Panchayat-wise monitoring for the Swachh Bharat Mission initiatives.
The meeting was graced by the presence of Additional Deputy Commissioner Joginder Singh Jasrotia, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Rafiq Ahmed Jaral, Chief Planning Officer Mudassir Yaqoob Zargar, Assistant Commissioner Development Dr. Ranjeet Singh Kotwal, and DPO Dr. Manmeet Kumar, among others. All BDOs participated actively in the discussions, collectively displaying a commitment to driving the success of the Swachh Bharat Mission in the district.
