Poonch, May 9: In light of the prevailing security situation along the Line of Control (LoC), Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Shri Vikas Kundal (IAS), and Senior Superintendent of Police, Shri Shafket Hussain (JKPS), today visited the Mangnar area to assess and reinforce security measures.

During the visit, the officers conducted a comprehensive on-ground review of force deployment, assessed operational preparedness, and engaged with field personnel to ensure seamless coordination in maintaining peace and public safety.

This visit follows recent incidents of cross-border firing and heightened security threats in the border areas. The DC and SSP reaffirmed the administration’s unwavering commitment to protecting the lives and property of residents in sensitive and forward locations.

A public interaction was also held, during which local residents were encouraged to remain vigilant and cooperate with the authorities. The officers assured the community that robust steps are being taken to enhance surveillance, upgrade infrastructure, and ensure a prompt response to any untoward incidents.
