Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve today chaired a review meeting in his office chamber to discuss the achievements of the year 2022-23 and finalize the physical and financial targets under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) for the year 2023-24.
Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD), Ghulam Mohammad, Block Development Officer (BDO) Kargil, Shargole, Lotsum, Sankoo and Barsoo were present during the meeting.
Detailed presentations were given by the BDOs of the respective Blocks. They informed the DC about the works achieved, financial progress, geotagging, Aadhaar seeding status, projected plan and budget for Financial Year 2023-24.
DC Kargil directed the concerned officers to achieve 100 percent work completion of grey water management (individual household soak pits) till June this year.
He also directed to focus on Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) works in their respective blocks to achieve the target of works in the stipulated time. DC Kargil directed the BDOs to utilize the government funds in optimum way at the grassroots level to benefit people at large.
The Deputy Commissioner also suggested to plan playground development works at various villages where the land is available for the benefit of children.
He also directed to speed up the construction work of separate toilets for girls and boys at various schools and the work should be done on priority basis.
DC Kargil directed the department to ensure that focus should be on creation of community assets with no compromise on quality control of work. He further suggested for community mobilisation through PRIs for effective implementation of Government Policies and Schemes.
