Deputy Commissioner (DC) Samba, Anuradha Gupta today visited several Panchayats of block Samba and inspected completed and ongoing works of Rural Development Department (RDD).
She was accompanied by Assistant Commissioner Development, Sidharath Dhiman, BDO Samba, Ajay Pandita, field functionaries of RDD, Revenue, besides PRI members of concerned Panchayats.
During the visit, the DC inspected development works in Panchayat Rakh Ambtali, including the construction of a deep Drain from H/o Anil Kumar today main road costing Rs 0.59 Lakh, construction of lane/Drain from Madhera Road to Balbir Singh house costing Rs 2.36 Lakh and construction of Lane Drain from link Road to Peer Baba costing Rs 2.17 Lakh.
En-route, the DC also inspected the construction of Lane costing Rs 2.27 Lakh and construction of Stream (Nallah) costing Rs 2.17 Lakh at village Rakh Kangwala of panchayat Sadoh.
The works, as informed by BDO, have been completed under PRI grants which will benefit more than 300 habitants of 06 villages of the area.
The Deputy Commissioner enquired from the PRI members about population profile, cropping pattern, economic activities, developmental gaps, priorities and requirement of the areas. She instructed the BDO to complete all pending works of Panchayat and other plans focusing on works proposed for district CAPEX.
She laid emphasis upon ensuring cleanliness in the Panchayat and directed BDO to implement Solid Waste Management by-laws effectively.
