Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal, today presided over a meeting to review the performance of line departments on the Good Governance Index (GGI). The meeting, held at the District Administrative Complex, brought together officials from different departments to discuss and assess the progress made towards achieving good governance parameters in the district.
The Good Governance Index is a comprehensive tool that measures the performance of districts on various governance indicators. It serves as an important benchmark for evaluating the effectiveness and efficiency of government policies and programmes.
During the meeting, the DC stressed the significance of good governance in ensuring transparency, accountability, and citizen-centric service delivery. He highlighted the importance of aligning administrative processes with the principles of good governance to enhance the overall governance standards in the district.
The Deputy Commissioner reviewed the performance of different departments in key areas such as public service delivery, public infrastructure, economic governance, and social welfare. He appreciated the efforts of various departments in implementing government initiatives and programmes to benefit the citizens of Rajouri.
He also stressed the need for continuous monitoring and evaluation of governance indicators to identify areas for improvement and take corrective measures. He encouraged all departments to work collaboratively and adopt innovative approaches to further enhance governance practices in the district.
In addition, the DC stressed the importance of incorporating feedback from citizens and stakeholders in the governance process to ensure inclusivity and responsiveness. He urged all departments to prioritise citizen-centric service delivery and strive to make Rajouri a model district in terms of good governance. He also urged the Officers for quality disposal of the grievances.
