Deputy Commissioner, Leh, Shrikant Suse conducted two-day extensive tour of Nyoma sub-division to review the progress of ongoing development works. Senior Superintendent of Police, Leh, PD Nitya; Councillor Nyoma, Ishey Spalzang; Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Nyoma, Jigmet Angchuk; District Sheep Husbandry Officer, Leh, Dr Tundup Namgail; Sub-Divisional Heads of various departments, including PHE, Medical, Social Welfare, Animal/Sheep Husbandry, Agriculture, etc and other concerned officers/officials accompanied him during the tour.
DC Leh, Shrikant Suse visited various locations at Nyoma HQ and Dungti to inspect the functioning of the Jal Jeevan Mission scheme and reviewed its effectiveness during under sub-zero temperature. He visited PHC Nyoma to review the status of ongoing works like the construction of doctors’ quarters and isolation ward and also inspected the developmental work of the Revenue and Agriculture department, including the construction of the Tehsil Office Complex, Patwarkhana, and Ladakh Green House site respectively.
DC and SSP Leh also visited Kakjung pasture area and interacted with the nomadic herders of Mudh, Tsaga, Nyoma, Nidder and Koyul villages currently stationed at Kakjung. He also distributed cattle feed/fodder, medicines etc to the livestock herders and sport equipment to children.
Mega camps consisting of health check ups for grazers, veterinary check ups for livestock, awareness on social welfare schemes were held at Kakjung and Dungti.
Special Aadhar enrolment camp was held at Dungti as a part of Digital Outreach Programme launched by District Administration consisting of on spot services through mobile van having VSAT facilities.
He also inaugurated a Medical Sub-Centre at Dungti which was constructed under Border Area Development Programme (BADP).
Later, DC Leh also held meetings with the GOC, U-Force at Kiari and ITBP to discuss pertinent matters concerning the border villages.
