Kupwara, May 9: Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Ms. Ayushi Sudan, along with Senior Superintendent of Police Kupwara, Mr. Ghulam Jeelani Wani, today visited Kralpora area of Kupwara district to take stock of the situation arising out of the cross-border shelling during the intervening night of May 8 and 9.
During the visit, the DC and SSP interacted with the local residents and assessed the damage caused due to the shelling. The officials assured the affected population of all possible support from the administration, including timely relief and necessary safety measures.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of maintaining calm and urged the public to remain alert while cooperating with the district administration. She also directed concerned departments to stay on high alert and ensure prompt response in case of any further untoward incident.
The district administration is closely monitoring the situation and is in constant touch with security agencies to ensure the safety and security of the people living in border areas.
