Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Avny Lavasa today convened a meeting to review the progress of works under Jal Jeevan Mission here at DC Office complex.
Chief Planning Officer, Yoginder Katoch along with other senior officers from concerned departments were present in the meeting.
The meeting was informed by the concerned official that there are 738 works under 272 schemes under JJM. It was also informed that 729 works have been tendered out of which 438 tenders are still open. It was further informed that 330 works have already been allotted.
The Deputy Commissioner said that JJM is a flagship program of Central government which envisages 100 % saturation of functional household tap water by the Implementing agency by the end of this year.
She also asked the concerned officials to activate Pani Samitis to expedite the process so that the target can be achieved in a time bound manner.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the programme envisages all the household to have access to safe and adequate drinking water facilities and government is committed to connect each and every household with piped water supply.
