Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal, on Wednesday conducted a whirlwind tour of the city and outskirt areas to inspect the progress of work on major PWD sector projects, including vital roads and Water installations.
Accompanied by a team of officials and engineers, the Deputy Commissioner inspected the circular road from Abdullah Bridge via Anandpur Ashram and the Approach Road to Hamilton Bridge.
The circular road from Abdullah Bridge via Anandpur Ashram being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 1.32 crore and the Approach Road to Hamilton Bridge involving a cost of Rs 2.25 crore were evaluated in detail to ensure their timely and efficient completion.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner inspected a key water supply scheme managed by the Jal Shakti Department for Rajouri city.
The Deputy Commissioner inspected Sangam water station, which caters to key areas of the Town such as Tariq Bridge and Doodhadhari Mandir. He hailed the station’s impressive discharge capacity of 12,000 gallons per hour.
With a keen eye for detail, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri scrutinised the machinery, duty register, and other essential elements of the water supply system. Emphasizing the importance of uninterrupted water supply, particularly during the scorching summer months, he issued a slew of directions to ensure efficient water distribution and management.
