Directs holding workshops, awareness camps
JANUARY 17 (Gulistan News Tv) : The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Shyambir today convened a meeting of District Level Cooperative Development Committee (DCDC), here.
The meeting focused on making Primary Agriculture Credit Societies (PACS) as economically vibrant entities by diversifying their business activities at grass-roots level.
During the meeting, a detailed discussion was held on directions passed in previous meeting of DCDC and various agenda points including status of adoption of Model Bye laws by PACS, status of hardware purchase, targets for establishing new multipurpose PACS, formation of FPOs by PACS, identification of PACS for convergence with PM-KUSUM scheme, establishment of Jan Aushadhi Kendras by PACS and other initiatives.
The DC was briefed about the progress made on various initiatives undertaken by the Ministry of Cooperation like registration of M-PACS, M-DCS, M-FCS in uncovered Gram Panchayats (GPs), establishment of CSCs, PMKSKs, World Largest Grain storage in Cooperative sector, in order to diversify the business activities of PACS to make them vibrant economic entities.
It was also informed that all the PACS registered in the district have adopted Model Byelaws, established 13 CSCs and PMKSKs.
The DC directed all the members of the committee to work in close coordination in order to fulfill the various initiatives undertaken under the guidance of the Ministry of Cooperation in order to strengthen the cooperative ecosystem, and assured all possible support from District Administration to achieve the set targets.
The meeting also discussed the year-long calendar for celebration of International Year of Cooperatives-2025, besides 2 Food Processing Units were also approved.
Furthermore, the DC directed the CMO for identification of space for setting up of Jan Aushadhi Kendras at PHC Wakura and PHC Wussan. Cooperative Bank was instructed to organize workshops with the concerned stakeholders to equip them with the services provided by the bank.
The DC also emphasized the importance of holding awareness camps on PACs to maximize benefits for eligible stakeholders.
